MIKE MARKOWITZ - WRITER
Michael Markowitz is an Emmy-nominated TV and film writer, as well as a dedicated Xboxist. After graduating from Northwestern University’s Theatre Program, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue acting. He appeared (so briefly) in the films THE FLAMINGO KID and LAST RESORT. Then Mike moved back to Chicago, and was studying and performing at Chicago’s famed Second City Training Center when his writing caught the attention of Paramount’s Jeff Reno & Ron Osborn, who brought him back to L.A. (first class!) to be a staff writer on “Duckman.” By the end of the show’s 70-episode run Mike was one of the showrunners.
Mike continued on at Paramount, where he wrote and produced television shows like “Becker” — in fact exactly like “Becker” — and then developed pilots for BGE and Sony. The sale of his spec screenplay HORRIBLE BOSSES launched his screenwriting career and earned him an American Comedy Award nomination. For the last few years he has been developing TV, film and interactive projects with Bad Robot, and he is currently co-executive producer of the CBS show “Friends With Better Lives.”
