SHELBY BARTELSTEIN - WRITER / DIRECTOR / PERFORMER
Shelby is a writer/director based in New York City, where she tells stories on the screen and stage. Originally from the North Shore of Chicago (aka The Land of John Hughes), her love for Lou Malnati’s pizza and The Cubs still remain sincerely intact. Her short film “Pretty People,” which she penned + stars in, will be hitting the festival circuit this coming season. It’s also in development as a feature, filming Spring 2020. In the world of advertising, she specializes in eccentric branded-content, creating, directing and consulting for top brands all over the world. Shelby revitalized the branded musical with her viral hit “Can’t Wait to Wash My Face: The Musical!,” from Olay (Proctor & Gamble). It made its TV Debut on the 2018 MTV VMAs. Following that success, she continued the musical series by creating and directing five more viral musicals. Due to the viral success of this series, Olay brought a full-length live show to the New York Stage with an all-new musical “The Road to Glow!” starring comedy legend Ana Gasteyer (SNL, Mean Girls, Wine Country). If you’d like to stalk Shelby for whatever reason IRL, you can find her every Sunday playing a mean game of Softball with her team, The Mean Green. She’s the one who brings the snacks.
