After majoring in Computer Science at Morehouse College, Leon worked on Wall Street as a Technology Project Manager in Asset Management at a major private bank. The repetitive, mundane work of corporate America drove him to a quarter-life crisis, where he discovered his passion for screenwriting. Since then he has gone on to achieve such accolades as winning Best Feature in the 2016 WeScreenplay Diverse Voices Contest with a “powerful action script where the only thing that overshadows the insanity of the set pieces is the heart.” The judges “were blown away by the originality” and the writing was described as “fusing energy and passion to create a uniquely raw and cutting story.” These traits – original, energetic, passionate, and raw – are foundational to all of Leon’s scripts. Both a drama and comedy writer, Leon was selected to participate in the prestigious 2017 CBS Entertainment Diversity Sketch Comedy Showcase. He is also an alumnus of Upright Citizens Brigade. His most recent work is set up at No Label Productions and Great Lake Pictures, production companies founded by former NBA star Baron Davis and rapper Big Sean respectively.
