Max & Jen Lance
Jen Lance and Max Lance are a husband-and-wife writing team who won the Academy Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting with their feature, THE QUEEN OF SLEAZE. Two years earlier, they reached the finals of the fellowship with a different script, BEST FUNERAL EVER.
Jen is a dual Canadian-American writer, actress and dancer who grew up performing in the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Originally from Victoria, B.C. and Seattle, WA, Jen’s theater credits include appearances in The New York Fringe Festival, Hollywood Fringe Festival, Los Angeles Theater Ensemble and L.A. Opera. She has been recognized in NPR, Backstage and L.A. Weekly. Her work has appeared in the Los Angeles Reel Film Festival, Park City Film Festival and can be seen on Netflix.
Max’s collection of bad date stories, CRAZY GIRLS, was an Amazon bestseller. His pilot, LET’S GO BUFFALO, was a finalist for the PAGE screenplay competition. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Hollywood Reporter and ABC’s 20/20, and he created the web series, High School Summary, with his brother. He also worked in production and development for 20th Century Fox, Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Montecito Picture Company.
Max and Jen met as volunteers with Young Storytellers, a non-profit that teaches screenwriting to 5th grade students. They are avid travelers, hikers, and worthy board game opponents who have recently welcomed the arrival of their first daughter.
